Panic Attacks and Anxiety: Adios! to Derealization and Depersonalization
0For those who’ve read my previous article, Panic Attacks and Anxiety: Derealization and Depersonalization - You Aren’t Going Crazy!, this is the perfect follow-up scoop. But if you’ve yet to read it, not to worry, there’s still much to be learned here.
Now, in review, derealization and depersonalization all too often accompany panic attacks and anxiety. In general terms, derealization is a frightening feeling of detachment from one’s external environment, and depersonalization is an equally as frightening sense of detachment from self. Both can be absolutely crippling and take you to the turnstiles of your perception of insanity.

Anxiety And Panic How I Overcame Depersonalization
0In the process of writing this book I covered the feeling of detachment from oneself, otherwise known as depersonalisation: an emotional disorder in which there is loss of contact with your own personal reality accompanied by feelings of unreality and strangeness, also a sensation of ones environment looking or feeling ‘strange’ and unusual.
This one question kept coming up more and more as I was writing this book, so I decided to add an extra chapter on this annoying, yet harmless, symptom.

A Guide To Anxiety Disorders
0Anxiety disorders are one of the most common psychiatric illnesses affecting both children and adults. There are about 40 million known cases in the United States alone. These disorders usually develop from a complex set of risk factors which may include personality, brain chemistry, genetics, and life events. Though anxiety disorders may be derived from so many factors, they are highly treatable. However, perhaps because of the stigma attached to anxiety disorders, only about one in three people afflicted actually receive any type of treatment.
It is important to know that the phrase “anxiety disorder” is an umbrella term for more specialized disorders including Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia), and Specific Phobias. Regardless of what specific anxiety disorder a person has, they can be quite debilitating with a variety of symptoms. In most cases, anxiety disorders present themselves with other mental disorders such as depression.

How To Effectively Treat Anxiety Disorders
0The long list of disorders related to fear includes anxiety disorders. Anxiety disorder is often manifested in fear episodes, panic attacks, and hysteria. The symptoms for anxiety disorder may be common among the affected individuals but what triggers an anxiety disorder for an individual may not necessarily be the same for another individual. Anxiety disorder usually develops from phobias, extreme fear, pain, and stressful events.
Anxiety disorders are also linked to several physiological reactions. If an individual experiences heart palpitation, muscle spasms, sudden fatigue, and persistent headaches, he or she may develop an anxiety disorder later on. When an anxiety disorder develops in an individual, the normal functioning of the affected individual is disrupted. Thus, individuals suffering from anxiety disorders are advised to stay calm and stay still or stay in just one location when the anxiety attack occurs. These individuals should also be carefully monitored and observed. In treating anxiety disorder consulting an expert or another person on the individual’s capability to resume what he or she has been doing earlier is also advisable. To prevent any immediate recurrence of the attack, the person should rest at least a day after the occurrence of the anxiety attack.
