Social Anxiety Disorder Causes Symptoms Information With Treatment
0Many people with social anxiety disorder feel that there is “something wrong,” but don’t recognize their feeling as a sign of illness. Physiological effects, similar to those in other anxiety disorders, are present in social phobics. Social anxiety disorder can be so debilitating that it interferes with work, school and other routine activities. Social anxiety disorder may be linked to other mental illnesses, such as panic disorder , obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression. Signs and symptoms of social anxiety disorder can fluctuate over time. Physical symptoms include “mind going blank”, fast heartbeat, blushing, stomach ache. Cognitive distortions are a hallmark, and learned about in CBT. Thoughts are often self-defeating and inaccurate. Some sufferers may use alcohol or other drugs to reduce fears and inhibitions at social events. Social anxiety disorder may co-occur with other anxiety disorders as well as depression. Additionally, people with social anxiety may develop problems with substance abuse or dependence when they use drinking or drugs to “self-medicate” their symptoms. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), a class of antidepressants, are considered by many to be the first choice medication for generalised social phobia. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) may be helpful in the treatment of social anxiety disorder. MAOIs and benzodiazepines may require more monitoring than other medications. Beta blockers are sometimes used with performance anxiety, a specific kind of social anxiety.

Common Types of Anxiety Disorders
0Anxiety disorders can affect your daily life activities and may worsen if immediate treatment is not given.
Is there anything that makes you worry lately? It is completely normal to worry about things in life like your hectic schedules, rocky relationships, job interviews, and the many things our complicated life brings us. But, if the worries become too much that you may feel so choked up and that you are not in control of your life anymore, they might be symptoms of anxiety disorders.

Panic Attacks and Anxiety: Derealization and Depersonalization – You’re Not Going Crazy!
0Two of the most horrifying little goodies that so often accompany panic attacks and severe anxiety are derealization and depersonalization. Both can be absolutely crippling and take you right to the turnstiles of your perception of insanity. This article will discuss what these spooky phenomena are and what may cause them.
Coming from personal experience, derealization is a deep and disturbing sensation of unreality and detachment from one’s immediate world, rather an altered state of consciousness. It’s been described as feeling as though one is looking at the world through thick glass. I mean, you can see clearly, are fully oriented, and can function; however it’s like you’re operating in a very exclusive dimension. It is an absolutely terrifying experience and generally leads to the belief that insanity is at hand - especially if one hasn’t the knowledge as to what’s really going on. As derealization presents, one becomes extremely concerned about what to do and how to find help. See, it’s all about the fear of being, and appearing, crazy - or at the very least, extremely strange.

Social Anxiety/ Avoidant Personality Disorder

Here is another social anxiety video. I’d like to raise some awareness of what it’s like, but also note that I only speak on behalf of myself and no one else in this video. People’s symptoms and severity vary and it’s not up to armchair psychologists to decide these things. I want to raise awareness because besically in my daily life I feel like I cannot talk about it and I especially cannot use it to even try to explain my behaviour for fear of not being taken seriously. When it comes to youtubers, I am happy to discuss the validity of my diagnosis and whether or not it is considered an acceptable disability or I am just making excuses for being a social retard. I am happy to be open with people I don’t know. But I care if my supervisors at work were to tell me that, or workmates, friends or even just people that might say hi to me as I pass by or the people I raid with on WoW. In fact, I feel like I must not tell them at all. They must not see any anxiety from me. Or any negative emotion. Or Else. I also want to break down the idea that we’re all the same and should behave a cirtain way. It all boils down to feelings and thoughts which you can’t know for sure. For example, somebody with social anxiety is not always shy. They do have friends. They do go out and are not always anxious about everything. Very strange, but for me, I am probably less afraid of public speaking then the average person. But asking someone for something…. it cannot be done. I often don’t even …
